Busy and Fun Day!

Well where do I start?  Had such a fun day today.  I had an interview for a local jewelry company, met for coffee with Kristin Oppold - whom I met on Facebook and then spent the rest of the afternoon browsing through Pier One, Ikea and a thrift store.  I didn't really buy anything though.  It was so much fun to dress up (I live in jeans) and get out and about.  Oh and I have some fun photos to share.

Here is Kristin Oppold of Yay! Jewelry.  Was so much fun to finally meet her.

This is the handmade journal that I made in my photography class.  I've always wanted to learn how to make these and now I know how.  Can't wait to make some more.

And finally just a small sampling of my bead stash.  I signed up for a well know swap that is called Bead Soup and it is hosted by Lori Anderson Check out her Blog and maybe next time you can join in.

Bookbinding Today!

The photography 2 class that I'm taking is so much fun.  Our first project was to bind a book so that we had a journal to write notes and ideas in.  Bookbinding is something that I've always wanted to learn.

It took 2 classes and about 4 hours to complete the book.  There are about 16 students, so sharing paper cutters, paper piercers and the rest of the supplies took extra time.  It was so much fun and I can't wait to put all the scrapbooking paper that I have to good use and make more books.  If I have a chance to finish stitching the cover on tomorrow, I will post a photo.

Blessings,
Deb

Had to share!

I had to share a blog post that I found on the internet today.  It goes with my earlier post.

2013 New Dreams and Goals

Well it's been almost a year since I last updated.  Wow, does time fly.  I'm getting ever so close to graduating from the local technical college and I can't wait.  Which brings me to the title of this post, New Dreams and Goals.  My goal is to be selling my beads and jewelry by the end of the year (hopefully sooner).  Going to school, working and trying to be a wife, mother, etc. it all takes time.

My Fibromyalgia is not cooperating with me in keeping a regular 9-5 job and thus brings me to where I am at today.  I need to find a way to bring in an income that works with my bodies schedule.  Chronic pain and depression takes its toll on a person, it also some days controls my life.  I've taken some MAJOR steps in trying to change my lifestyle.  I went gluten free and also started eating Paleo.  This seemed to help in the beginning and I will continue to eat this way, due to the fact that I know I feel better.  But it hasn't been the miracle cure I was hoping for.

I re-organized my studio and am about 80% done with it.  As soon as it's finished, I will post a few photos.  It's finally to a place that its workable.  This is good since I need to start creating and getting beads, jewelry and components online for sale.

I hope to update this blog 3-4 times a week.  Thought I'd say that so it would remind me when I read back.  It's another way to get my work out there for people to see.

Blessings,
Deb
