I'm still here!

Yes, I'm still here and posting again.  Trying to continue with my new commitment to blog.  I do enjoy writing, so that isn't an issue at all.  Just trying to get more things in my life in order so that I can get busy with making beads and jewelry.

My day/night job keeps me busy.  I do overnight care (24 hours), generally 2-3 days in a row for the elderly.  It really is a fulfilling job and I enjoy it.  I also work part time at a local retail department store chain, so I am a bit busy.  I'm slowly cutting back on my part time job so that I can focus on my jewelry.  Especially with being accepted into my first art show.  Add to that the 12 credits of college I tried to take so that I could graduate this spring.  I gave it a good try, but didn't quite make it.  Will have one class left this fall to take and then I should be able to get my Jewelry Design and Repair Certificate!!!!

So this afternoon I spent doing some research on Victorian dresses.  I found some great photos and also a couple places that sell patterns that could/would work.  Going to make a trip to Joann's Etc before I make a final selection on an outfit.

I'm still trying to figure out the new blog and adding photos and hopefully will get that figured out soon.  I'd like to start adding photos of items that I'm working on or photos of things that I'm blogging about.  Hopefully soon.

Blessings,
Deb

I'm so EXCITED!!!!

First off, I'm on a roll with blogging.  Two days in a row, weeee.  Lots going on here in Minnesota.  Severe storm season is upon us and we had a doozy come through last night and again this afternoon.  Tornado touched down near Minneapolis and the radio is saying lots of damage.  So far so good for my family and friends.  No reports of damage by them.

Now onto exciting but also a little anxiety filled news.  So first the not so exciting news that is causing a little bit of anxiety.  I wrote my boss a letter at my part time job that I wanted to cut back to one shift a week and if that wasn't an option, today would be my 2 week notice.  Eeeeek.  I just can't continue with the schedule I have and promote my business.  Not enough time in the day.

The exciting news is way cool.  I was accepted into my first REAL show as an artist at the Christmas at the Courthouse, in Stillwater, MN.   I had to be selected by the committee that puts the show on as a fundraiser to maintain the old courthouse building.  I'm beyond excited.  Now to get busy making inventory and putting together some sort of Victorian costume.  Yes, you read that, I have to be dressed in something that looks Victorian.  This should be interesting.

I was hoping to get some help from a friend and post a few photos along with my message above.  Maybe tomorrow, so I thought I'd share my excitement without photos.

Have a great week!
Blessings,
Deb

New Blogging Home!

Well I was working on updating my original jewelry and lampwork blog and quickly found out that it wasn't an option on my original blog that I started to customize the look of it.  I really am trying to get my jewelry and beads out there and one way to do that is to blog.  The problem is I really want to have a uniform look to everything that I promote, sort of like branding myself.  It will be a work in progress.  Now that I have this new blog, I should be able to customize it and keep with my consistency of look.  Whew.

Continue to check back and see what I'm working on!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings, Deb
